How to Sign Up

Contact

Last month, the signup and the entire site was updated, so it's a little different. First, after you've clicked "Next Step," Choose the category that you have an interest in. Simple so far? Now, here comes that freaky long membership agreement. You have to agree to sign up, so just click agree even if you disagree. They probably won't find out if you did something wrong. Just don't SPAM. (Hint: Don't "click" accept. Use TAB instead. This way, you can say you didn't agree. If you don't understand this, go ahead and click it.)

On part one of registration form, enter the phone number that you want DSL to be set up on. The next one asks if you want to have DSL set up in home or office. Most likely, it would be home.  Then, your first name will be asked for. Then the next field asks for your last name. You don't need to fill in the next field because it asks what your company name is. Then, it will ask you what address you want DSL to be set up on. The apartment or suite number will be next if applicable. Enter the city that you're in, then select the state, select your country, and zip code. The next one is an alternate phone number that so they can call you and coordinate the installation. I put my cell phone number. You don't have to put anything there if you don't want to.

Part two is about connectivity. It asks you where you heard about Free DSL. You can put friend since you and I are like friends. Then, it asks for your phone company. If you don't know, you should check your phone bill.

Part three is the simplest process. Give them your current e-mail address, which they will primarily contact you with. Then, create a password and type it again the the next box. If you want to type any comments or anything, that's what the next box is for. After that, you're done with this part. Click the Next button. The next button takes you to the membership agreement. If your phone company is listed, then leave the next field blank. For Current Connection, most likely it would be 28.8 Dial up. You should put that unless you know it's something else. Computer type? Desktop is the kind that sits at your desk. Laptop is the kind you can carry around. Put you most used one if you have more than one computer. You operating system is like Windows. Select the version. If you're not sure, click Start and look to the left of the menu.

Part 3: User Profile. Easiest step, unless you want the simplest login name. Create a login name that you want to use to log in. You can put your e-mail address without the @somewhere.com on it. Make a password and make sure that you remember it or write it down. Retype your password in the next field to make sure it's correct. Next, put your e-mail address there so that they can contact you some way. The next to check boxes don't have to be checked, so just ignore it and click Continue to Step 4.

Step 4 is basically the download and installation of Winfire. So download Winfire and install it. This completes you registration.
