A Little Introduction Infantry: CTF stands for Infantry: Capture The Flag. There are currently three kinds of CTF maps running. The maps are Twin Peaks, Heinrich's Point, and Castillo Crossfire. Let me remind you that not team has any advantages over another. It depends on how experienced the players are on a team. In Twin Peaks (TP), there are two teams called Titan Militia and Collective Military. As you can see, there are more people in this zone than any other Infantry zones. Maybe it's the best map; I spend most of my time in this map also. The reason why it's called Twin Peaks is because there are two hills, or peaks, on the upper left and lower right of the outside map. There are caves, tunnels, and rooms that are used for bases. Sometimes, you may find a base in a tunnel. In Heinrich's Point (HP), there are three teams; Titan Militia, Collective Military, and Europan Mercs. I used to play in this map but I fled to TP because there were too many newbies here. This map is mostly based on an outside environment. There are no lifts or underground caves. For a base, people go to hills where bullets can travel to, corners where it's hard to find, and most commonly, in buildings. A building in this map contains plenty of rooms so you can just pick any base. Looking for the enemy base is a little difficult and that's one of the reasons why I left. In Castillo Crossfire (CC but called CTF Extreme), private teams are allowed. Since I didn't play in this map for more than 3 hours, I don't know the names of the default teams. I was told that this zone is all about private teams. You're supposed to enter a squad and you all meet in this map at some time to form a private team. This map is huge and confusing. Many people told me that they hated this map. I hate it also. History of Infantry Many people have told me (a long time ago) that Infantry was going to become marketed in a few months and people have to pay to play. I thought that sucks, but it didn't happen. Then, Infantry went down for a very long time and almost everyone wondered what in the world happened. Finally, one day, Infantry's website said that Sony had acquired the game. It gave us a website (http://www.station.sony.com/infantry) and there was a long wait until Infantry was finally back up. Today, Infantry remains a free game and still beta testing although it seems done. A lot of things have changed since it first came out and more changes are yet to come. |
