A few of my friends were talking about a game called Earth 2025, so I
decided to try it out. Earth 2025 is a text game with no graphics and
isn't that great, but it's addictive. This game is very hard to explain so
go play if you want to know about it.

Thanks to my current web host, 50megs.com, this website is going nowhere
but down the drain. What they've done is delete all my files that exceed
256KB and decided to stop allowing FTP access. These are the two most
important things a website need and look at what they've done. I need to
find a new web host now. Suggestions are always
welcomed.

There were some interesting news today. The US Pentagon and World Trade
Center were the targets of unknown terrorists who succeeded in
destruction. The story is
here. This day will indeed live in infamy and is a good chance it will
lead to nuclear war. We are a war right now with ourselves deciding what
we should do. The chances of a nuclear war is not rare anymore and this
world may demolish any time after that.

It's August 30 and I'm still connected to the Internet with BlueLight
(read below if you don't know what I'm talking about). Weren't they
supposed to discontinue their services to me? AT&T Broadband's website
still tells me that they can't provide service to me. What a
disappointment. People are telling me that they pay $20 for the first five
months and $30something after that. This is almost half the price for DSL,
but slower upstream. They should expand their coverage faster.

Right now, it's quarter till the 29th of August, the day that BlueLight
discontinues their free service. I'm currently using their connection and
don't know what to do when I get cut off. NetZero isn't so great, but Juno
is an alternative. Let's all hope I can stay connected to the world
tomorrow. If not, e-mail me and let me hear your suggestions.

This web site is non-profit. It's so non-profit that I have not seen a
penny go into my pocket until recently. GoTo.com sent me a check for $15
for having that search box on this web site. How much money do I really
make? Less than $5 every year. I haven't taken any steps to get much more
profit anyway. If you noticed, banner advertising pays almost nothing now.
This explains why all the "get paid to surf" and free ISPs have
disappeared.

50megs.com used to be a great web host. But right now, I'm looking at
other hosts. 50megs.com continues to decrease the benefits of their free
users. They don't seem to offer 50MB of storage to us anymore. It's more
like 12MB. I can host this website if I had cable/DSL or faster, but not
with dialup; it would be too slow. Right now, topzites.com came across our
faces. They actually have a great offer. Unlimited everything and no
banner! They're likely to be our next web host.

As I planned, I began to take steps in redesigning this site. As for now,
the templates are under construction. The new site looks a bit like
Windows XP. I hope Microsoft will not be angry since I'm promoting their
Windows product, but rather recognize eLite Zenith as an ally. By the way,
the new design is found at
http://eltznth.cjb.net. I'm hosting it so it may be down sometimes. If
it doesn't work now, try again later. It's worth taking a look at.

I installed Windows XP RC1 on my computer finally. Everything in terms of
display is excellent! Windows XP is more of an operating system for the
people who never used a computer before. It's so easy to use that it's
annoying. All these nice menus and icons only makes it harder for the experienced
user to do what he/she needs to do. To let the Windows 9x/Me users know,
Windows XP is more like Windows 2000 that it is like Windows 98. Be
prepared to ask technicians a lot of questions.

Once again, another free ISP is going to stop providing free Internet
service. BlueLight, my current ISP, will be discontinuing their free
service at the end of August (7/29/2k1). I first considered paying them
for continue usage of Internet access until I read their Terms of Use. It
summarizes to 'you may not do anything other than get connected and they
may terminate your account for any/no reason.' I've decided this can turn
out to be a scam if they decided to turn evil and it would be best to find
another ISP. I have a few in mind including broadband ISPs, but if there
are any free ISPs still out there (other than NetZero and Juno), please
let me know. I'd also like to hear about any cheap ISP services.

I've been very busy the last few days. Fortunately, I have Fridays off so
I spent the last two hours setting up a new web server program and spent
the day trying to get ArGoSoft Mail Server to work. So far, it's not up
because of "relaying." Relaying is sending someone a message with an
editable 'from' address. I don't know how to make it not relay messages.
If anyone knows how to use ArGoSoft Mail Server Pro 6.0.6000, please help
me or something. The publisher's contact information doesn't seem to be on
their website.

It's hard to believe that anyone can get so much work from summer school.
When most people think of summer school, they think of it being nothing
(come and go sort of thing). I have to spend at least three hours a day
(Sunday through Wednesday) working and I've ended up with a B. If any of
you know Mrs. McPike, just know that she is not an enjoyable teacher; and
shhh. Don't let her know about this.

Spam has reduced significantly toward my e-mail address. Only about five
messages compared to fifteen messages have went into my e-mail. This is a
good thing because it seems like spammers are realizing that people
boycott them. By the way, it's not unusual for spam to be scams. Some
spammed messages tell people to buy a mailing list to spam more people.
This seems foolish to me.

My network server that I set up my house and it is finally working
correctly. For now, it has two clients and it's using my slow analogue
connection. I'm planning to add my neighbor's computer to my LAN as well.
I'm thinking about having a Linux server other than my current Win2k Pro
server right now. The problem is that I need a modem that supports Linux
OS (Linmodem or hard modem). They're pretty expensive ($30 to $??? a lot).

A few more pages have been added to my Infantry branch. I think I want to
try out Windows XP Evaluation. I was told that there weren't any bugs
after using it for the first two or three days.

I was looking at some screen shots of Windows XP (beta) and I thought I
wanted to share them with you. Click
here. It
looks like the PC will finally look like what you see on TV. I think
Macintosh has done that a long time already, but that's a guess. I've
never (wanted to) used a Macintosh. I heard that it was a lot more user
friendly and it definitely is according to reports. I remember that
Microsoft hosted a 30 day evaluation of Windows XP, but I lost the link. A
friend of mine who showed me the link downloaded it and is using it.

Happy "Forth of July." I don't understand why people call it "Forth of
July" instead of Independence Day. It's like calling Christmas the
Twenty-fifth of December. Sound funny, doesn't it? People got too used to
calling Independence Day "Forth of July." Just like most holidays, the
average American doesn't know the true meaning of that holiday. Sorry
kids, Easter isn't about eggs or bunnies and Christmas isn't about Santa
Clause or presents. Happy Independence Day.

Been wondering where I've went? I spent the last few days doing the
following: have firewall software drivers give me headaches, back up my
hard drive, delete disk partition with FDISK, format hard drive, install
Windows 98SE, install my old software, install Windows 2000, install my
old software, restore my documents/data, reconfigure network, and more
stuff. A lot of work, isn't it. It'll look like a lot more if I explained
everything I did in detail.
